Open Sesame!

So, back when my son Mason was about three years old, we went for a little trip to the local grocery store. This store had one of those doors that senses when you step on the mat and then the doors open. Mason, who was tiny at three, walked up to the door and nothing happened. He looked at me and said " The door is stuck". I asked him what he was going to do about it. He then replied, "I'll use my magic to open it." He walked right up to the door, waved his arms in a grand way, and said " open sesame!!" At just that time, I stepped on the mat and the door opened. Mason stared in astonishment and said "It worked, I really can do magic!" I smiled, amused at his sense of accomplishment, and we continued in to shop.

Later, I thought about all that had happened. I began to wonder if God ever looks at us and smiles with amusement..."She thought she did that all by herself." It's just like that Footprints poem. We hardly ever realize how awesome God is at sustaining and maintaining us as we walk through life. He doesn't need the recognition for standing by us because He is already glorious. But, how blessed we are that we get the opportunity to praise him for always being there for us!!!

Ephesians 3:19b-21 "And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you'll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. 20-21God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us."

More than we realize, more than we can imagine...Next time, I'm going to take time to think about who's preparing the path for me and helping me to open doors in life.

I'm ready to "Reach out and experience the breadth (of God's love for me)! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God."

Now, to you God ...here's my heart - "Open Sesame!!!"
